DIFFERENT TYPES OF CAR ACCIDENTS

On Behalf of | Dec 15, 2020 | Motor Vehicle Accidents, Personal Injury

Each year, thousands of people are involved in one of the worst situations that can happen while they are doing something that every one of us does every day. Being involved in a car accident can be difficult a difficult experience, but understanding the accident and its consequence is extremely important.

If you’ve ever been involved in an accident, knowing some of the different types of car wrecks may help give you a better understanding of how they happen and who would be at fault. Here we are going to let you know some of the most common types of car crashes.

THE REAR-END COLLISION

Rear-end collisions are one of the most common type of wrecks for several reasons. First, if a driver is distracted while approaching other cars, they could fail to stop in enough time, which would lead to a rear-end collision. In other instances, a driver’s brake could be faulty, which could result in a rear-end crash. Rear-end collisions could lead to back injuries and whiplash cases.

A HEAD-ON COLLISION

These types of crashes usually happen when someone loses control of their car, possibly swerving into oncoming traffic. A head-on collision can be one of the most serious types of accident and the injuries sustained from these accidents can be catastrophic. Potential causes of head-on collisions can be fatigued or distracted driving, or even drunk driving.

SIDE SWIPE COLLISIONS

Typically, these accidents occur when individuals are distracted or something causes them to swerve into another lane. If that lane already has another vehicle in it, then they could crash into it. The damage caused by these types of accidents is usually determined by the speed at which the car crashes or swerves into the other.

A T-BONE COLLISION

A t-bone crash usually occurs at intersections when someone runs a four-way stop or traffic signal and then crashes into the side of another car coming through the four-way. These type of crashes can be very serious because they often result in one side of the vehicle collapsing onto the driver or passengers in the car. Also, these types of crashes are most often the fault of the driver who ran the stop sign or traffic signal.

By knowing the causes of these types of accidents, it can help show you who may be at fault for the accident. Knowing fault, can help injured parties protect their rights especially if the accident is serious or catastrophic.
